Tapioca House opened on Guadalupe Street in March 2002, bringing authentic Taiwanese and Vietnamese flavors to Austin. More than two decades later, it's still the same spot, the same commitment, and the same people behind the counter.
How it started in 2002
We opened steps from the UT campus in March 2002 as a small tea house rooted in genuine Taiwanese and Vietnamese culture — authentic recipes, no shortcuts.
More than a drink shop
Boba was just the beginning. Today the menu spans noodle soups, mushroom chicken over rice, fried pork dumplings, and wok-fried dishes — all made fresh with quality ingredients.
The people behind the counter
Owners and staff remember orders, greet guests by name, and make every boba run feel like visiting a friend. That warmth has always been the point.
Still here, still the same
Boba shops have opened and closed all around Austin since 2002 — Tapioca House hasn't moved, hasn't cut corners, and hasn't lost the loyalty of regulars who've been coming since day one.
